DWHS 16-19 Tuition Funding 2021-2022

the 16-19 tuition fund for the 2021-2022 academic year

The 16 to 19 tuition fund is ring-fenced for schools, colleges, and all other 16 to 19 providers, to mitigate the disruption to learning and all other forms of disadvantage arising from the Covid-19 pandemic. The purpose of this statement is to set out how Dormers Wells High School will utilise its 16 to 19 tuition fund.

Who will be supported by this fund?

Students aged 16-18 who have been disadvantaged by missed learning; who have been disadvantaged in other ways as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic and who come from an economically disadvantaged background. Although the support is targeted based on prior attainment in maths/English, the funding is not limited to support in these subjects, and will be provided according to need across a variety of subjects.

How is Dormers Wells High School using this fund?

Identified Year 13 students will receive additional tuition in small groups (max 5 students in each group) to help them in courses they are underperforming in.

Identified Year 12 students will receive booster tuition (max 5 students in each group) with English and Maths to bridge the gap between GCSE and A level courses.

This tuition will be in addition to course and qualification timetabled hours and will be delivered face to face and on-line as appropriate.

Who will provide the additional tuition?

The school will deliver all additional tuition using external tuition agencies or teachers and support staff from its own workforce as appropriate.

How can students access additional tuition?

Additional tuition will be personalised to meet individual needs and regular reviews will take place to ensure students are making the necessary progress and attainment.
